Villa Joss
Completed in summer 2010, located in Petitenget within the Greater Seminyak area on Bali's Southern tip, just minutes walk from a golden expanse of tranquil coconut lined beach, Villa Joss is designed to be both relaxing and stylish. Sleek, glamorous and unapologetically modern, Villa Joss nevertheless exudes an exotic atmosphere and distinctive Balinese charm.
Designed by one of Bali's premier architects, whose work can also be seen in some of Seminyak's trendiest hotspots including the lounge bar, Ku De Ta, the quality of the design and craftsmanship is evident throughout, making ample use of beautiful organic materials to perfectly capture the style and spirit of Bali.
Hidden behind a walled enclosure reminiscent of a traditional Balinese village and ensuring the utmost in privacy, guests enter through an imposing wooden door, a modern interpretation of Majapahit period palace entry gate leading to a seated Buddah water feature, vine shrouded koi pond and stepping stones leading to an exotic garden and 17 metre lap pool.
The villa boasts two master bedrooms downstairs and a third master bedroom upstairs with a twin bedroom next door, each attached with lavish bathrooms, flat screen TVs and built in wardrobes.
Uncluttered yet carefully styled, the villa is dotted with traditional motifs drawn from ancient Buddhist sites, such as Java's Borobudur temple. Touches of quality and glamour can also be found in the bathroom areas with their beautifully hewn freestanding stone baths and lush outdoor showers.

Bedrooms
Elegant and tranquil with beautifully designed pieces of Balinese style furniture, Villa Joss's four bedrooms are enclosed in a separate two-storey living area facing the pool.
The two double bedrooms downstairs are almost identical in size and style. The four-poster double beds draped with mosquito netting lending a traditional romantic feel, while one room is accented with touches of red and pink, the other has more masculine hints of blue and brown.
Each bedroom boasts a flat screen LG TV and a dressing area with built-in wardrobes with ample hanging space. Downstairs the bathrooms have sensuously curved stone baths looking out to a lush outdoor shower garden. Upstairs the single-bedded rooms are no less charming, the quality of the furnishing and decoration consistent throughout.
Ensuite Bathrooms
The downstairs are bathrooms are unusually spacious boasting both indoor and outdoor showers, double sink unit and large freestanding stone baths. The stone floors and temple carving in the shower echo the high quality of materials and craftmanship used throughout the villa, while the glass walls looking on to the outdoor shower lend the bathroom a lush back-to-nature feel. The toilet is in a separate area within the bathroom, ensuring complete privacy.
Living Area and Swimming Pool
Light, spacious and open, Villa joss's living spaces draw inspiration from Balinese bale concept for living and socialising. The handsomely proportioned dining and sitting room flanked on two sides by folding glass doors which pull back to create a cool, airy space overlooking the garden and pool.
Furnished with tasteful modern pieces including classic brown leather dining chairs, a long light wood dining table with seating for eight and soft brown leather sofa and armchairs, the mood is uncluttered and airy.
Watched over by a reclining Buddah carved from a rare black Javanese River Stone and running almost the entire length of the garden, the narrow pool is beautifully designed using dark slate tiles in a deep midnight hue.
It's easy to enjoy this elegant setting from the comfort of the wooden poolside sunloungers or cool off with a drink in the spacious square Jacuzzi 'dining room' under the shade of the central parasol. At the opposite end of the pool, an open bale is furnished with a sizable cushion-strewn daybed and long and light wood dining table, with seating for eight adults, perfect for a relaxing alfresco lunch.
Kitchen
The sleek open plan galley kitchen with a black granite - topped breakfast bar provides the perfect place to enjoy a snack or, alternatively, to call on the services of the villa chef, who will prepare your meals in the separate staff kitchen.
TV Room
A light, airy and relaxing space with pale green walls and linen sofa, the TV room is the place to curl up and enjoy your favourite movie. Once again the quality of this villa is evident with a huge LG flat-screen TV, DVD player and Bose speakers providing the entertainment. Shelves of Balinese artefacts lend artistic touches, while a sleek built-in desk provides an elegant, uncluttered space to work at your laptop or surf the internet.
Location
Situated just five minutes walk from one of Bali's most popular surfing beaches with it's breathtaking sunsets and sand as far as the eye can see, Villa Joss is the ideal spot for a relaxing sun and sea holiday. Shielded as it is from the motorbikes and traffic that buzzes along the Jalan Batu Belig Road in its own very private enclave, it's easy to forget that you are on the doorstep of Bali's number one party zone and just a short taxi ride away from the and hotspots of Seminyak, including internationally acclaimed restaurants such as Ku de Ta, La Luccialo, Hu' u Bar and Sarong.
One of Bali's most fashionable and upmarket locations, Seminyak is also the boutique shopping and spa capital of Bali with high end spas like Body Worx and numerous in-villa massage services providing the excellent quality spa treatments for which Bali is renowned. Seminyak is also home to numerous surf schools, yoga classes and the excellent sports and fitness facilities of the Canggu Club.
Villa Joss is just forty-five minutes from the airport; about 80 minutes from the rice terraces and cultural capital of Ubud and for those with an urge to discover the animal kingdom, just 60 minutes from the Bali Safari and Marine Park at Gianyar, as well as an accessible 60 from the Uluwatu Temple at the Southernmost tip of Bali.
